Most Championship wins in the March Madness Tournament

March Madness has begun! This years team most favored to win are the Gonzaga Bull dogs. They are the only remaining undefeated team this season. This would be their first championship. Another favorite this year is Baylor, with Michigan and Illinois filling out the favorites predicted for the Final Four.

Looking back, here are the teams with the most national championships, with UCLA leading the way. Their last win however, was in ’95. UCLA’s reign mostly took place in the ‘60’s and ‘70’s winning 7 championships in a row, which to this day is a record that has not been defeated. UCLA’s last win in 1995 was a great game, winning it at the buzzer against Missouri 75-74.

Villanova is the most recent winner among the list, beating out Michigan in 2018.
